This specimen was lot 2459 in Sincona sale 20 (Zurich, October 2014), where it sold for CHF 5,250 (about US$6,579 including buyer's fees). The catalog description<sup>[1]</sup> noted, "Dukat 1684. Mainz. Selten. Vorzüglich. (rare, extremely fine.)" This rare type was struck one year only.
