This specimen was lot 5706 in Sincona Auction 102 (Zürich, October 2025), where it sold for 100 CHF (about US$151 including buyers' fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"SCHWEIZ. Zürich. Stadt und Kanton, Rappen 1844, Zürich. Fast FDC. (Switzerland, canton of Zürich, rappen of 1844, Zürich mint. About Mint State.)"
This type was struck 1842-48. We wonder if the "D" mintmark indicates that it was made in Stuttgart, not Zürich.
Recorded mintage: unknown but a better date.
Specification: 0.67 g, billon, 14 mm diameter, this specimen 0.74 g.
