Sincona auction 98, lot 4714

This specimen was lot 4714 in SINCONA Auction 98 (Zürich, May 2025), where it sold for 150 CHF (about US$218 including buyers' fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"SCHWEIZ Zürich, Stadt und Kanton, 10 Schilling 1808, Zürich. Gerippter Rand. Selten in dieser Erhaltung. FDC. Herrliche dunkle Patina. (Switzerland, city and canton of Zürich, ten schilling of 1808, Zürich mint. Reeded edge. Rare in this condition, Mint State, Most attractively dark toned.)"

This type was struck 1807-11 with an undated issue from 1806. Numista states ten schilling made two-fifths of a franc or one tenth of a thaler.
