This specimen was lot 31543 in Heritage sale 3049 (Long Beach, September 2016), where it sold for $646.25. The catalog description[1] noted, "Zurich. City 20 Schilling 1792 MS63 ANACS. A stunning example of the issue and perhaps conservatively graded with luminous luster throughout, essentially no marks and small patches of mauve patina on both sides. Although modestly valued in the Standard Catalog of World Coins, the specialized HMZ catalog reflects a greater appreciation for the issue, assigning a 1,000 CHF value in UNZ and 2,000 CHF in Stempelglanz. From the Redwood Collection, Part II." This type was issued 1783, 1786, 1790-92 and 1798 and was worth half a gulden or a quarter thaler. In 1798, the canton of Zurich was forcibly incorporated into the Helvetic Republic.

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: silver.
