This specimen was lot 71732 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Santa Ana, CA, February 2020), where it sold for $228. The catalog description[1] noted, "ZAIRE. 10 Zaires, 1988. PCGS SPECIMEN-66 Gold Shield. A few hints of toning show on this Specimen, which is not mentioned in the SCWC. Mobutu, depicted on the obverse, was the absolute despot of Zaire 1965-97. His death set off the Congo civil war which continues to this day." This bust was used on the brass zaire and five zaires of 1987.
