Yunnan Province lies in the south of China, bordering Burma (Myanmar), Laos, and Vietnam. Various mints were active in imperial times, with one modern mint operating in Kunming starting in 1905, striking the first copper coins in 1906 and silver in 1908.
The specimen shown was lot 60747 in Ponterio sale 162 (Hong Kong, August 2011), where it sold for US$ 8,962. The catalog description[1] noted, "CHINA. Yunnan. Cent, Year 21 (1932). 民國二十一年雲南省造壹仙銅幣。The Jacobs example graded "Almost EF" realized $3800 in August of 2008. 2008年8月,諾曼雅各斯出品標示"Almost EF"級,成交價是美金3800元。NGC AU-55 BN.”
