This specimen was lot 687 in Sincona sale 46 (Zürich, May 2018), where it sold for 500 CHF (about US$600 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"Jugoslawien, Republik, 1946-2003. 200 Dinara 1968 NI. 25. Jahrestag der Ausrufung der Jugoslawischen Bundesrepublik. Polierte Platte. FDC. Winzige Kratzer. (people's republic of Yugoslavia, 1946-2003, two hundred dinara of 1968, 25th anniversary of the republic. Choice Proof, Tiny scratches.)"

Yugoslavia was originally formed out of the wreckage of the Austro-Hungarian Empire after World War One. The king of Serbia was given the throne and he and his successors ruled uneasily until the Nazi invasion of 1941. Resistance against the Germans spawned numerous partisan guerilla groups, of which the most successful was the Communist Serbs led by Tito, who went on to head the country after the war. His stature may be measured by the fact that he was one of the few to stand up to Stalin in the fifties. Yugoslavia collapsed into a bloody civil war after his death. This NCLT was part of a series which included KM 50 (50 dinara, silver), KM 51 (gold 100 dinara), KM 53 (gold 500 dinara) and KM 54 (gold 1000 dinara).

Recorded mintage: 10,000 proofs.

Specification: 15.64 g, 0.900 fine gold, 30 mm diameter, this specimen 15.73 g.

Catalog reference: KM 52, Schl. 11.1. Fr-7.
