Sincona sale 90, lot 1115

This specimen was lot 1115 in Sincona sale 90 (Zürich, May 2024), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted,

"DEUTSCHLAND Würzburg, Bistum, Johann Philipp von Schönborn, 1642-1673. Dukat o. J., Nürnberg. +IO:PH:D:G:S:S:M:A:E:S:-R:I:A:C:P:E:E:H:F:O:DVX Geharnischtes Brustbild fast von vorn, davor gekröntes, vierfeldiges Wappen. Rv. FVNDAMENTA EIVS IN MONTIBVS SANCTIS Strahlender Name Jehovas über drei Bergspitzen (die Bergspitzen kommen im Schönborner Familienwappen und im Würzburger Wappen als fränkischer Rechen vor). Sehr selten, besonders in dieser Erhaltung. NGC MS63. Prachtexemplar. (Germany, bishopric of Würzburg, John Philip of Schonborn, 1642-73, undated ducat, Nuremberg mint. Obverse: armored bust facing, in front, crowned and quartered arms; reverse: the name of the Lord in a glory over three mountain peaks. Very rare, especially in this condition, Cabinet piece.)"

Johann Philipp von Schönborn was also archbishop of Mainz (from 1647) and bishop of Worms (from 1663). He was a principal negotiator of the Peace of Westphalia of 1648 which ended the Thirty Years War. This type could be KM 125 or KM 126; the descriptions in the SCWC are vague and photos are lacking.
