This specimen was lot 1015 in Jean Elsen sale 121 (Brussels, June 2014), where it sold for €460 (about US$737 including buyers' fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"ALLEMAGNE, WURTEMBERG, Wilhelm Ier (1816-1864), AV ducat, 1848. Rare. Fines griffes au droit. presque Superbe. (kingdom of Württemberg, William I (1816-64), gold ducat of 1848. Rare, fine scratches on the obverse, about extremely fine.)"
This type is recorded for 1840-48. Despite the substantial mintage, it is scarce.
