This specimen was lot 23127 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Las Vegas, August 2020), where it sold for $576. The catalog description[1] noted, "ITALY. Venice. 1/4 Scudo, 1709-10 FAP. Giovanni Corner II. PCGS MS-63 Gold Shield. A well detailed coin, struck over another type, with pleasant olive to orange peripheral toning. From the Jasmine Collection." This type was struck 1709-21. Initials FAP stand for mintmaster Francesco Antonio Paruta, who operated 1709-10. The SCWC notes that the scudo varied between 31.83 g and 30.66 g in the eighteenth century. It had a face value of seven lire, making this coin worth 1¾ lire or 35 soldi.
