This specimen was lot 8504 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2022), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted, "VENEZUELA. Gold Bolivar, 2008. Valcambi Mint. NGC PROOF-69 Ultra Cameo. Variety struck in Gold (the regular issue is bi-metallic), to commemorate the reconversion of the Bolivar monetary unit. A brilliant and attractive proof, with hard mirrored fields and frosted cameo devices. Free of tone, haze, or fog. From the Centuria Collection." In 1983, the Venezuelan government removed the peg between the bolivar and the dollar. Political instability and the excesses of the Chavista regime have accelerated inflation. The bimetallic coin (KM Y93) is listed for 2007, 2009 and 2012.

Recorded mintage: 2,800.

Specification: the regular issue is 8.04 g, bi metallic (copper-nickel center in aluminum bronze ring).
