This specimen is from the final date of a type struck at various mints 1879-1936. It is the last full size silver peso for Venezuela. There are similar quarter, half, one and two bolivares (KM Y20, KM Y21, KM Y22, KM Y23). In spite of, or perhaps because of, the extreme monotony of the design, these are avidly collected by date. Only the 1935 and 1936 issues are reasonably common in high grade. This date is from Philadelphia; other mints include Paris and Brussels.
Recorded mintage: 2,000,000.
Specification: 25 g, 0.900 fine silver, .723 troy oz ASW, reeded edge, designed by Albert Barré of the Paris mint.
Catalog reference: KM Y24.2.
