Venezuela 1924 bolivar rev 600.jpg

This specimen is a later date of a type struck at various mints 1879-1936. There are similar quarter, half, two and five bolivares (KM Y20, KM Y21, KM Y23, KM Y24). In spite of, or perhaps because of, the extreme monotony of the design, these are avidly collected by date. Many dates are rare, this one is common. This date is from Philadelphia; other mints include Paris and Brussels.

Recorded mintage: 1,250,000.

Specification: 5 g, 0.835 fine silver, .268 troy oz ASW, reeded edge, designed by Albert Barré of the Paris mint.

Catalog reference: KM Y22.
