Stack's Bowers 2020 ANA sale, lot 23686

This specimen was lot 23686 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Las Vegas, August 2020), where it sold for $192. The catalog description[1] noted, "VENEZUELA. 12-1/2 Centimos, 1896. NGC MS-61. A well struck and somewhat almond toned coin." The SCWC notes this one year type as a product of the Berlin mint. It was accompanied by a five centimos, the only other issue of 1896. The next issue of this denomination was in 1925.

Recorded mintage: 6,000,000.
