This specimen was lot 44047 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2019), where it sold for $630. The catalog description[1] noted, "VENEZUELA. 1/2 Bolivar (50 Centimos), 1893-A. PCGS MS-62 Gold Shield. Highly collectible quality with strong luster in the fields and a veil of tone over both sides that contains hues of charming amber and green color." This type was struck 1879, 1886-89, 1893, 1900-03, 1911-12, 1919-24, 1929, 1935-36 at Caracas, Paris and Philadelphia. The 1893, minted at Paris, is a better date.
