Vaud 1818 1/2 batzen

from the Mountain Groan Collection

This half batzen (or five rappen) was issued from the Swiss canton of Vaud 1804-19. Vaudois issues ended in 1831 except for a rare franc emitted 1845. Cantonal issues were terminated by the confederation of 1848.

Recorded mintage: unknown but common.

Specification: 1.9 g, billon, 23 mm diameter, plain edge.
