Künker sale 294, lot 3174

This specimen was lot 3174 in Künker sale 294 (Osnabruck, Germany, July 2017), where it sold for €2,600 (about US$3,504 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"NIEDERLANDE, UTRECHT, Provinz. 2 Dukaten 1747. In US-Plastikholder der PCGS mit der Bewertung MS 62. GOLD. Attraktives, vorzügliches Exemplar. (Netherlands, province of Utrecht, double ducat of 1747, in PCGS MS-62 holder. Attractive, extremely fine.)"

This type was struck throughout the eighteenth century until 1794 but remains expensive.

Specification: 7 g, 0.986 fine gold, .221 troy oz AGW.
