Utrecht 1661 ducat Fr-284
This specimen was lot 2204 in Jean Elsen sale 145 (Brussels, September 2020), where it sold for €200 (about US$285 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"NEDERLAND, UTRECHT, Provincie, AV dukaat met de ridder, 1661. Vz/ Staande ridder n.r. met zwaard en pijlenbundel. Kz/ Tekst in versierd vierkant. Stukje uit de rand. Fraai à Zeer Fraai. (Netherlands, province of Utrecht, gold ducat of 1661. Obverse: standing knight with sword and bundle of arrows; reverse: text on plaque. Rim defect, Fine - Very Fine.)"
This type was struck in Utrecht steadily from 1587 to 1700 without any significant design change.
