Sincona sale 102, lot 5559

This specimen was lot 5559 in Sincona Auction 102 (Zürich, October 2025), where it sold for 300 CHF (about US$452 including buyers' fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"SCHWEIZ. Uri. Batzen 1624, Altdorf. Grosses Wappen. Selten. Sehr schön. (Switzerland, canton of Uri, batzen of 1624, Altdorf mint, large arms, Rare, Very Fine.)"

Altho struck in 1624 only, the small arms variety (KM 26) is quite a bit more common than the large arms variety shown here.

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: 2.34-2.45 g, billon, 26 mm diameter, this specimen 2.34 g.
