Uri-Nidwalden (1506-29) soldino
This specimen was lot 5542 in Sincona Auction 102 (Zürich, October 2025), where it sold for 650 CHF (about US$980 including buyers' fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"SCHWEIZ. Uri und Nidwalden. Soldino o. J. (1506 - ca. 1529), Bellinzona. Doppelwappen unter Doppeladler. Rv. Ankerkreuz. Selten. Schön-sehr schön. (Switzerland, cantons of Uri, Schwyz and Nidwalden, undated soldino or sesino, circa 1506-29, Bellinzona mint. Obverse: impaled arms under a double headed eagle; reverse: anchor cross. Rare, Fine-Very Fine.)"
The soldino was a denomination extensively minted in Genoa and Venice. One guldiner was 160 soldini or eight cavalotti. It was imitated in Misox, Uri-Nidwalden (shown here) and Vaud.
