As the United States entered World War Two, coin mintages increased. Very common in all grades, although some are lightly struck. Full Details coins are easily enough found for nearly all cents of this era.

Recorded mintage: 128,700,000 (a new record for the Denver mint).

Specification: 3.11 g, bronze, 19 mm diameter, plain edge, designed by Victor D. Brenner.
