As the United States gradually climbed out of the Depression, coin mintages increased. This issue has the highest mintage of any since 1919 tho it would be dwarfed by the huge production of 1940-45. This date is common in all grades.

Recorded mintage: 316,479,520 (highest mintage since 1919).

Specification: 3.11 g, bronze, 19 mm diameter, plain edge, designed by Victor D. Brenner.
