Like all United States half cents, this specimen was struck at the Philadelphia mint. It has been counterstamped "J. ROUSH" on the obverse and "E. O. HILL" on the reverse. The classic head half cent was struck 1809-36 and this is a common date. A variety exists with 12 stars on the obverse which receives a premium.
Recorded Mintage: 606,000 (including the 12 star obverse).
Specification: copper, 5.45 g (84 grains), 23.5 mm diameter, plain edge, Designer: John Reich.
