Sincona Auction 103, lot 1014

This specimen was lot 1014 in Sincona Auction 103 (Zürich, May 2026), where it sold for 300 CHF (about US$457 including buyers' fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"USA, 1 Cent 1802, Philadelphia. Draped bust type. With stems. Sehr schön. (United States, draped bust cent of 1802, Philadelphia mint, with stems. Very Fine.)"

This Draped Bust cent is from a type struck in Philadelphia 1796-1807. Large numbers were made, especially compared to the earlier Flowing Hair and Liberty Cap cents, and circulated specimens are readily available. Varieties abound, all carefully documented by Sheldon number.

Recorded mintage: 3,435,100.
