This specimen was lot 20697 in Heritage auction 3567 (Long Beach, CA, September 2018), where it sold for $1,440. The catalog description[1] noted,

"San Diego, CA - $10 1902 Plain Back Fr. 630 The Union NB Ch. # (P)10435. An extremely scarce San Diego bank which issued Third Charter Date Backs and Plain Backs only before closing in 1927. The census shows only eight pieces, including this example which has been the only note to be publicly offered since 2004. This specimen shows even wear and good color but received a net grade for some lightening of a few small stains. PMG Fine 12 Net."

This specimen was lot 18121 in Heritage auction 354 (the Horwedel sale, Long Beach, CA, September 2004), where it sold for $2,990. The catalog description[1] noted, "San Diego, CA - $20 1902 Plain Back Fr. 656 The Union NB Ch. # (P)10435. An even higher grade example from this large only San Diego issuer than the note we sold as part of the California Estate collection last year which realized $1955. Bright Fine-Very Fine." This specimen was subsequently lot 21147 in Heritage auction 3576 (Orlando, FL, January 2020), where it sold for $4,320.
