This specimen was lot 10508 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Anaheim, CA, August 2016), where it sold for $1,527.50. The catalog description[1] noted, "Pasadena, California. $5 1902 Plain Back. Fr. 600. The Union NB. Charter #9121. Fine. One of Pasadena's scarcest banks, with this newly discovered note making just 10 reported to the current census. A nice honest circulated note that displays some average soiling for the grade. For accuracy there is a stray blue grease mark on the top right of the note."

This specimen was lot 17986 in Heritage auction 354 (the Horwedel sale, Long Beach, CA, September 2004), where it sold for $1,495. The catalog description[1] noted, "Pasadena, CA - $10 1902 Plain Back Fr. 626 The Union NB Ch. # (P)9121. A very difficult to find note from one of Pasadena's scarcest banks, with just six examples listed in the census, one of which is laminated. This is the only $10 known from the bank and one of only two reported Plain Backs. Fine, with some repaired splits at the folds. From Currency Auctions of America's November, 1992 sale, lot 2049."
