This specimen was lot 25157 in Heritage sale 3026 (Long Beach, October 2013), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted, "Florence. Ferdinando I gold Ducat 1596, AU58 NGC, nicely struck with bold details and virtually full mint luster, very scarce early type in this select grade. Reverse with standing figure of St. John." Friedberg lists this type for 1595-97 and 1608 and does not assign it a particularly high price.
