This specimen was lot 75752 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, September 2023), where it sold for $840. The catalog description[1] noted, "TURKEY. Ottoman Empire. Kurush, AH 1255 Year 22. Constantinople (Istanbul) Mint. Abdul Mejid. NGC MS-64. This lovely near-Gem minor delivers wonderful luster and clarity of detail along with a flashy palette of colorful tone." This type was struck years 6-23 and is common. It was roughly equal to a half dime or British threepence.
