This specimen was lot 2426 in Stephen Album sale 39 (Santa Rosa, CA, January 2021), where it sold for $1,800. The catalog description[1] noted, "TURKEY: Abdul Mejid, 1839-1861, AR 20 para, Kostantiniye, AH1255 year 11, a fantastic quality example! PCGS graded MS65." This type was struck years 9-23 and was of good silver, a novelty in Turkish coinage. Starting in year 16, a copper twenty para was also issued and both were struck for some years and into the next reign.
