Turkey AH 1106 ashrafi KM-129
This specimen was lot 375 in Steve Album Auction 55 (Santa Rosa, CA, May 2026), where it sold for $720. The catalog description[1] noted, "TURKEY: Mustafa III, 1695-1703, AV ashrafi, Edirne, AH1106, the first post-reform gold coin struck at Edirne, choice VF, R. The only earlier gold coin of Edirne was struck by Süleyman I (1520-1566), exceedingly rare!" This denomination was struck at several locations: KM 128 was struck at Constantinople, KM 129 (shown here) was struck at Edirne, KM 131 was struck at Izmir and KM A131 was struck at Ordu-yu Humayun (the army camp mint). Mustafa II was blamed for the loss of Hungary to the Austrians and deposed, dying four months later.
