The first specimen was lot 2236 in Sincona sale 23 (Zürich, May 2015), where it sold for 300 CHF (about US$377 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"Trier, Erzbistum, Werner von Falkenstein, 1388-1418 Goldgulden o. J. (1414-17). Oberwesel, Sehr schön. (Germany, archbishopric of Trier, Werner of Falkenstein (1388-1418). gold gulden without date, Oberwesel mint, very fine.)"

The second specimen was lot 1141 in Stephen Album sale 30 (Santa Rosa, CA, January 2018), where it sold for $646.25. The catalog description[2] noted, "TRIER: Werner von Falkenstein, 1388-1418, AV goldgulden (Wesel), ND, St. Johannes standing // Trier coat of arms, superimposed upon other arms, VF." Friedberg does not attempt to date this coin any closer than archbishop Werner's reign (1388-1418).

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: 3.5 g, 0.986 fine gold, the first specimen 3.36 g, the second specimen 3.46 g.
