This specimen was lot 75231 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, September 2023), where it sold for $144. The catalog description[1] noted, "INDIA. Travancore. Chuckram, ND (1939-40). Chithira Thirunal Bala Rama Varma II (under George VI as Emperor). NGC MS-65 Red Brown. Variety with no date. A lovely Gem with deep coppery color and a gentle tone. Quite attractive on account of its crisp, lustrous originality." This type also comes dated ME1114. The type is common tho the proofs are rare. Travancore was a princely state on the SW tip of India adjacent to the Madras presidency.
