This specimen was lot 4273 in Goldberg sale 85 (Los Angeles, June 2015), where it sold for $11,163. The catalog description[1] noted, "Poland: Thorn. Brand Taler, 1629. City view of Thorn besieged by Swedish troops during the thirty year war. Toned. Rare. NGC graded VF-25." The siege of Thorn also occasioned the issue of other thalers, Dav-4367, -4368 and -4370, all rare. The city of Thorn is now Torun in Poland.
