This circulating one baht was brought back to the USA by a recent traveler. At the current exchange rate (US$1 = 36 THB as of September 2023), this coin is worth about 3 cents. This type is not listed in the SCWC, being too new, but we surmise that it was first issued in 2017, the old king Bhumibol having died in October 2016. Vajiralongkorn, or Rama X, has a reputation as a philanderer and has demonstrated a preference for residing in Germany over his home country of Thailand.
Recorded mintage: unknown but common.
Specification: 3 g, nickel plated steel, 20 mm diameter, reeded edge.
Catalog reference: KM unlisted.
