Stack's Bowers June 2022 Collector's Choice sale, lot 72645

This specimen was lot 72645 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, June 2022), where it sold for $144. The catalog description[1] noted, "THAILAND. Fuang (1/8 Baht), ND (1876-1900). Rama V. NGC MS-64. On the cusp of Gem status, this elegant and alluring minor radiates with luster beneath the incredibly vibrant iridescence." The fuang was an eighth of a baht. In 1908, the system was simplified to 100 satang = one baht.
