This specimen was lot 73216 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, November 2023), where it sold for $144. The catalog description[1] noted, "CHINA. Taiwan. Yuan, Year 49 (1960). PCGS MS-66. A delightful Gem, this untoned specimen glistens with a steely gray hue and intense brilliance." This type was struck years 49 and 59-69 (1960 and 1970-1980) in large quantities. It is worthless in all grades.

Recorded mintage: 321,717,000.

Specification: 6 g, copper-nickel-zinc, 25 mm diameter, reeded edge.
