This specimen was lot 53444 in Stack's Bowers Hong Kong auction (Hong Kong, April 2021), where it sold for $3,360. The catalog description[1] noted, "CHINA. Szechuan. 50 Cash, Year 15 (1926). PCGS MS-62 Brown Gold Shield. A bit of an intense woodgrain nature is observed on this nearly-choice specimen. Compare to a similar example, a PCGS MS-63 Brown, which realized a total of $6,600 in our October 2020 Hong Kong auction (lot 42407)." This type was also struck in brass (Y-462a).

Recorded mintage: 90,000 including brass.
