Switzerland 1934-B 5 rappen
This specimen was lot 76389 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice Online Auction (Costa Mesa, CA, February 2025), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted, "SWITZERLAND. 5 Rappen, 1934-B. Bern Mint. PCGS MS-64." This specimen was offered again as lot 75793 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice Online Auction (Costa Mesa, CA, May 2025), where it still did not sell. This type was struck 1932-41. While many Swiss types have been issued unchanged for decades, this one was demonetized in 1984 as its magnetic properties interfered with the operation of vending machines. The denomination was converted first to copper-nickel then to aluminum bronze.
