Ponterio sale 169, lot 12287

This specimen was lot 12287 in Ponterio sale 169 (Baltimore, November 2012), where it sold for $470. The catalog description^[2] noted, "SWEDEN. 20 Kronor, 1898. PCGS MS-65 Secure Holder." This type was struck in limited numbers 1877-99 but the release of the hoard of the Bank of Sweden in the late nineties made this type common in all grades.

Recorded mintage: 313,000.

Specification: 8.96 g, 0.900 fine gold, .259 troy oz AGW.
