This specimen was lot 34269 in Heritage sale 3106 (New York, January 2023), where it sold for $3,840. The catalog description[1] noted, "Sweden: Carl XIII gold Ducat 1817-OL MS64 NGC, Stockholm mint. With initials OL for mintmaster Olof Lidijn. An eye-catching, Choice piece with energetic appearance, owing to the scintillating and reflective fields. Presently the sole highest graded example, and certainly looks the part." This type was struck 1815-17 and is scarce, as are most Swedish ducats.
