Sweden 1734-GZ 1/2 riksdaler
This specimen was lot 1612 in Sincona sale 76 (Zürich, May 2022), where it sold for 2,500 CHF (about US$3,035 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"SWEDEN. Friedrich I. 1720-1751. 1/2 Riksdaler 1734, Stockholm. Mit der Signatur GZ (Georg Zedritz, Münzmeister in Stockholm, 1730-1738). Sehr selten in dieser Erhaltung. Fast FDC. NGC UNC Details. Kratzer auf dem Avers. (kingdom of Sweden, Frederick I, 1720-51, half riksdaler of 1734, Stockholm mint, with the mintmaster's initials "GZ". Very rare in this condition, About uncirculated, Scratch on obverse.)"
This type was struck in tiny quantities 1723-26 and 1733-36. It was accompanied by a full riksdaler (KM 395.3).
