Steve Album sale 54, lot 2705

This specimen was lot 2705 in Steve Album Auction 54 (Santa Rosa, CA, January 2026), where it sold for $115. The catalog description[1] noted, "GREAT BRITAIN: AE halfpenny token, 1795, Suffolk. Bungay; hand holding scroll // Justice standing right on plinth, holding sword and scales; all set on laurel branch and palm frond, S PRENTICE S DELF M ABEL on edge, a wonderful mostly red lustrous example! NGC graded MS64 RB." Wikipedia comments, "Bungay is a market town...in the East Suffolk district of Suffolk, England. It lies in the Waveney Valley, 5½ miles west of Beccles.... In 2011 it had a population of 5,127."
