Steve Album sale 54, lot 984

This specimen was lot 984 in Steve Album Auction 54 (Santa Rosa, CA, January 2026), where it sold for $1,920. The catalog description[1] noted, "SUDAN: Republic, 1/4 dinar, 1994/AH1415, struck in brass plated steel, Central Bank of Sudan building // denomination and dates, plain edge, cleaned, extremely rare and the first we have handled, and no examples are present in auction records, PCGS graded Unc details, RRR. The 1994 dinar and 2 dinar were released into circulation, but the two smallest denominations (1/4 and 1/2 Dinar) appear to have been shelved before being issued, thus resulting in their extreme rarity." The dinar was the currency of Sudan between 1992 and 2007.
