This specimen was lot 4607 in Goldberg sale 84 (Los Angeles, January 2015), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted, "St. Helena. ½ Penny, 1821. Copper. British East India Company. Coat of arms. NGC graded Proof 63 Brown." This specimen is a bronze restrike of a type originally issued in copper for the tiny island of St. Helena, most famous for being the final residence of Napoleon. Patterns exist for other issues but this is the only one that made it into circulation.
