This specimen was lot 3931 in Stephen Album sale 50 (Santa Rosa, CA, September 2024), where it sold for $102. The catalog description[1] noted, "SRI LANKA: Democratic Socialist Republic, AR 1000 rupees, 2012, 60 Years of Diplomatic Relations between Sri Lanka and Japan, with colored applique, in original capsule, Choice Proof." This was struck in Japan. The reverse appears to depict a dam, likely one paid for by Japan.
Recorded mintage: 20,000 proofs.
