This specimen was the first issue of this type, which is still in production as of 2024 although the last date which circulated is 2017. With US$1 = 1420 won (as of December 2024), this coin has a face value of seven cents. The obverse features admiral Yi Sun-Shin (1545-98), who defeated the Japanese on multiple occasions.

Specification: 5.42 g, copper-nickel, 24 mm diameter, reeded edge.
