This specimen was lot 75309 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice Online Auction (Costa Mesa, CA, October 2024), where it sold for $125. The catalog description[1] noted, "GREAT BRITAIN. Trade Tokens. Somersetshire - Bath. 1/4 Penny (Farthing) Copper Token, 1795. PCGS MS-63 Brown. D&H-112A. Edge: plain. Obverse: Central cypher with date below, A BATH FARTHING TOKEN; Reverse: Brick of imported tea at center with M. LAMBE / & SON / GROCERS / BATH and a Chinese symbol imprinted thereon, SPICES TEAS SUGARS COFFEES around. A Choice piece that abounds with swirling luster, with a sheen of blue toning pervading the fields." Thousands of varieties exist and Conder tokens are their own collecting specialty. Farthing tokens, while not rare, are a tiny fraction of the total.
