Sincona sale 101, lot 3242

This specimen was lot 3242 in Sincona Auction 101 (Zürich, October 2025), where it sold for 3,000 CHF (about US$4,522 including buyers' fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"RDR / ÖSTERREICH Joseph I. 1705-1711. 1/12 Dukat 1706, Breslau. Selten. (Holy Roman Empire, Joseph I, one twelfth ducat of 1706, Breslau mint. Rare. NGC MS64.)"

The mint at Breslau struck coins for the local bishop and for the emperor, as here. The imperial coinage is listed under Silesia, which province was seized by Frederick the Great in 1741.
