Stack's Bowers 2022 ANA sale, lot 30324

This specimen was lot 30324 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Chicago, August 2022), where it sold for $1,320. The catalog description[1] noted, "BOHEMIA. 1/6 Ducat, 1688-SHS. Breslau Mint. Leopold I. NGC MS-63. A RARE example of this penultimate date for the series that is made even more difficult when encountered this choice and enticing, the present specimen glistens with exceptional lustrous brilliance and sports a golden-yellow hue throughout. From the Augustana Collection." Breslau is in Silesia, where we have filed this, not Bohemia, as catalogued by the auctioneers. This imperial type was struck 1687-98. The Breslau mint also struck coinage for the local bishop and featured the episcopal bust.
