This specimen was lot 2419 in Sincona sale 33 (Zürich, October 2016), where it sold for 2,200 CHF (about US$2,612 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"Schlesien-Liegnitz-Brieg, Herzogtum. Wenceslas I. 1352-1364 Goldgulden o. J. Sehr schön. (Germany, duchy of Silesia-Liegnitz-Brieg, Wenceslas I (1352-64), undated goldgulden, very fine.)"
The duchy is located in Silesia and fell to the Hapsburgs in the seventeenth century on the extinction of the line. Frederick the Great of Prussia seized Silesia in the 1740's but it is now part of Poland.
Recorded mintage: unknown but rare.
